Making these brain ball truffles couldn’t be easier. Simply blend, roll, and dip! Here’s the step-by-step process with photos.
Step 1 – Combine Ingredients: In a food processor, combine the pitted dates, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, ground flax seeds, hemp seeds, vanilla extract, and salt. Process until a sticky dough forms. This may take a few minutes.
Step 2 – Form the Truffles: Divide the dough into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball using your hands.
Step 3 – Coat the Truffles: If desired, roll the truffles in your preferred coating, such as cocoa powder or powdered sugar.
To preserve the flavor and benefits, keep these bites stored in a covered container in the freezer for up to six months. They are delicious straight from the freezer!
Absolutely! While this recipe was tested with walnuts, pumpkin, flax, hemp, and chia seeds, you can mix and match. Softer nuts like pecans, cashews, and peanuts are best. For seeds, try sunflower seeds. If you do try these with another type of nut or seed, we’d love to hear how it goes in the comments below!
