Meet the ultimate indoor or outdoor dessert—campfire banana boats loaded with gooey vegan marshmallows, melty chocolate chips, and crunchy toppings, all roasted to perfection. They're so irresistible, you might just set up camp in your kitchen to make these over and over. Perfect for adventurers of all kinds, whether you're under the stars or indoors!
Slice an unpeeled banana lengthwise, just slicing through the banana inside. Leave the other side of the banana uncut.
Pull the cut portion open slightly to reveal the banana flesh inside.
Stuff the Bananas:
Gently push your choice of toppings into the interior of each banana. Aim for a balance of flavors and textures—think gooey, sweet, and crunchy.
Wrap the Bananas:
Place a piece of parchment paper on top of a piece of foil. Place the stuffed banana on top, wrap the parchment around it, then wrap the foil around that. Slightly crinkle the foil to seal it.
Bake:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Place the wrapped bananas on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, until the bananas are soft and all of the fillings are melted and gooey.
Roast Over Campfire Coals:
Place the wrapped bananas over hot campfire coals and allow to cook for 15-30 minutes until the outside of the banana starts to turn black, and the inside is soft and melty.
Grill:
Place the wrapped bananas on a grill and cook until the outside of the banana starts to turn black, and the inside is soft and melty.
Serve:
Carefully unwrap the bananas (watch out for steam!) and allow them to slightly cool before devouring.
