What could possibly be wrong with #wool? Sheep nee What could possibly be wrong with #wool? Sheep need haircuts, don't they? Sadly, the wool industry involves a lot of cruel practices.⁣

The most notable is called "mulesing." You can Google that to see the heart-wrenching photos. It's a procedure in which farmers carve big chunks of skin and flesh from lambs’ behinds using tools resembling gardening shears, usually without painkillers. This is common practice in Australia, where the vast majority of the world's wool is produced, in a crude attempt to prevent a parasitic infection called “flystrike.” You see, sheep have been bred to have extra wrinkly skin so they'll produce more wool, but that makes them more susceptible to flystrike. The industry's solution? Just cut off their butts. It's horrific.⁣

Shearing is also far from a spa-day haircut for sheep. Shearers are typically paid by the sheep, not by the hour, so they work as fast as possible sacrificing welfare of the animals.⁣

When their wool production drops, sheep are typically sent to slaughter for meat. Millions are killed every year. This usually involves a looong journey in a cramped transport ship to countries with little-to-no legal protections for these animals.⁣

There's no reason to continue supporting this industry when so many cruelty-free alternatives exist today. You'll prevent needless suffering by choosing vegan sweaters, socks, blankets, carpets, and beyond. -@MichelleCehn 👩🏼‍🌾

I don't know about you, but I am the WORST at taking my vitamins. 😅 I used to piece together several different kinds to get B12, Vitamin D, and DHA...and too often it just didn't happen. It's so much easier to take just one ☝🏼 vitamin which is what I do now thanks to @TheHippo7!

They've got seven essentials: B12, Vitamin D, Omega 3s, Iron, Iodine, Calcium, and Zinc, making life so much easier. I keep them on my counter next to the bananas 🍌🍌 as a visual reminder!
