The days when being vegan was associated with boring salads and bean sprouts are over. In today’s world, vegan food is represented by colorful smoothie bowls, juicy plant-powered burgers, avocado everything, pasta, pizza, burritos, chick’n nuggets, creamy soups, cheese platters, ice cream, and beyond.
Everything you could eat before choosing vegan, you can probably still eat now—sans the cruelty.
Doomies Home Cookin’ is a great representation of that. When it comes to comfort food, they’ve nailed it. They’re known for their vegan Big Mac, a double-decker burger made completely from plants. You’d never guess it thought! It’s meaty, cheesy, and packed with flavor and comfort. If you ever find yourself near Doomie’s, you’ve got to give it a try. It’s not on the menu, but just ask!
They also have many other decadent vegan offerings like Philly cheesesteak, BBQ pulled pork, fried avocado, mac ‘n’ cheese, “chicken” fingers, chili cheese fries, and of my personal favorites—jalapeno poppers. Just, wow. They were amazing.
I just visited Los Angeles with Toni Okamoto from Plant Based on a Budget, and we went to Doomie’s for the first time to see if it stood up to its reputation. And oh boy—it did. Join us on our Doomie’s vegan comfort food adventure in this video!
